    • Update autopay everywhere the old card number lived: streaming, phone bill, insurance, tolls, gym. Miss one and you find out via late fee. Your card issuer's website often lists recurring merchants — use it as a checklist.
    • Transit passes, library cards, membership cards: replaceable in minutes, worth a single sweep so the new wallet isn't a scavenger hunt for months.
    • The cash is gone. It stings and there's no process for it. Budget it as tuition.
